Blue screen after windows logo and then restarts!

By jiraiya.hokage ·
I got a power outage today and when i got it back i tried to turn on the pc, it will load up until the winodws logo then a blue screen appears but it goes away too quickly and cannot read what it says. So the pc restarts then it asks me to start the pc in safe mode, start windows normally, last known config, etc. So i try all of them and none of them seem to work as they all go past the windows logo screen and restarts, anyone know why and how to resolve this. Watch this video as it is exactly what happenns to my pc.

Blue Screen

by dmiles In reply to Blue screen after windows ...

It sounds like you have corrupt files on your hard drive that when system boots cannot be accessed, try booting and using your designated key to enter setup, check the bios setup that your HD is being recognized,if this does not work,if this doesn't work.

The other suggestionis to reload XP using the Windows XP disk.

Hey i can get into the recovery system thing using a windows xp CD, but the original windows on my pc was MEDIA edition. Anyway when i try to type in the command 'md tmp' it says access is denied...why?

Because you need to use the Computers Admin Password

by OH Smeg In reply to admin password...

Not the User Admin Password. When you install Windows you are prompted to enter a Master Password and I assume here that is what is needed not the Users Password.

If this is a Desktop Computer

by OH Smeg In reply to Blue screen after windows ...

And it was on when the power went out or was left plugged in when the power was returned it is possible that th Power Supply took a hit from a Spike when the Power either went out or came back on and the Power Supply needs replacing.

To check this out stick a Boot CD like the Ultimate Boot CD in the Optical Drive and boot from that then run a CPU Test. If the test runs for 10 minutes or more it's not likely to be the Power Supply.
