Bring Up Printers

We rebooted our server and our HP printers failed to come up. 2 are on a Castelle Printer server, 3 are on HP Printer servers and rest have jetdirect cards. We tried resetting the cards through jetadmin and they activate but when the users go to print they do not respond. What do we do

Are these printers all NDPS? if NDPSM isn't in your autoexec.ncf, the printers won't start. ( that's novell ). Not sure what the equivalent NT app is, but look in the server boot files. Lazy consultants often load, but fail to make things permanent.

Is the rest of the network affected? It could be a subnet problem, TcP/IP problem, or other effects. If nothing else in the network is affected other than printers, I would look towards the server boot files. ARe all of these printers pure tcp/ip, or are they on Print Queues?

When you said you re=set the cards, it didn't give enough info, or how the cards were previously configured. If they were on DHCP, then the Print Software on the server is still looking for the printers on their prior numbers.

A little more info, and I might be able to get you in the right direction.
