BSOD now Cant boot anthing get a blackscrean insted.

By simonribansky ·
I resently tryied to run a program but i got the BSOD.

now i cant boot anything. When i turn on the computer i get past dell logo and i get a black screan and never go into the window loading screan. I never even get to the OS selection menue nor to the safe mode menu.

I tried to boot from a CD. It starts, it tells me to click any botton but when i do it goes to the black screan and stays there forever.

it acts just like when i plug in my MP3 player before turning on my coputer where it just goes to that black screan but with the MP3 i just unplug and reboot now i cant do that.

I looked around a little for similar problems and it looks like it might be an hardware problem (Mother Board or hard drive). Plz tell me it isnt as i have 2gs of ram in the mail for it (i got a pretty good deal but still nowone like to **** money away)and i dont want to spend much more on an old computer though it looks like i might have too.

its a dell dimension E310
i run windows XP media
1g ram

run with zero problem sense 2006

plz help me

Sounds like a power issue maybe

by The Scummy One In reply to BSOD now Cant boot anthin ...

try another power supply, if it does not help, look to test the motherboard.

If it wont finish the POST, it likely was not the app that caused it.

Possibly a connection worked loose.

Try opening the PC and check that all connections are seated correctly as sometimes they can work loose, particularly EIDE connections.

Dell diagnostics doesnt boot either

by simonribansky In reply to Try using the Dell Diagno ...

I think the problem is getting worst as i can no longer boot the dell diagnositics softwere.

When it did work, I ran a few diagnostics and all the tested that i ran passed. I did not ran very many of them though.

I ran the quick one and a few that had to do with memory.

i was about to test the HD but by that time the softwere did not boot.
