can i connect and share a wired printer on a lan through a wireless router

Hi New to this site. Just want to find out if I can connect to a shared printer on a wired network through my netgear internet wireless connection. Strange thing is that when i use the wireless setup wizard on my main machine I can access the shared folder on my laptop. But i cannot access the shared folder on my main machine from my laptop as it tells me that I do not have access rights?? I wondered if I can use the shared printer on the network to print from my laptop. I realise that this will not work unless my main machine is running and I couls just buy a wireless printer but that wouldn`t be as much fun. Sorry if some of these questions seem a bit dumb but an techy amature

As long as the computers can contact each other, it shouldn't matter whether they are physically connected or wireless.

My experience might help people. I have a wireless router connected to my desktop PC by Ethernet cable. Parallel printer connected to PC by cable. Laptop connects to router by wireless, to access Internet. I wanted to print from laptop to the printer. Desktop and laptop both access Internet ok.
Solution: I followed the steps in this tutorial and printer became usable by laptop on first try. Hope this helps all those people with this problem.
