Cannot find PC's in Network Neighborhood

By nirenen ·
I have set up users running Windows 95, 98 and NT clients on a Novell Netware 5 network. They all belong to the same workgroup.
Problem is: I can't see certain users in Network Neighborhood. This has created a problem with resource sharing.
Any help would be much appreciated.
TIA

1. Make sure there are no trailing spaces in the computer name.
2. Try enabling netbeui or tcpip and creating your own subnet.
3. Do you have the microsoft client loaded?
4. Are youdepending upon ipx? If so go to properties>advanced> frame type. Set frame type to 802.2(?).
5. Enable service file and printer sharing if you desire to share files or printers with the microsoft machines.

Good Luck,
Bo

Make sure you install "Client for MS network" and "Client for Novell network"

check for IPX too!

Make sure that you have all of the computers running client / client services for Netware with properties configured to login to the netware server . They all ( including the server ) should be running the same protocol . the NT clients should havetheir SERVER service running . Now make a list of the computer Names of the PCs that don't show up in NEtwork Neighborhood . Go to Start menu / Find / Computers . For each of the PCs type the name of the computer and press Find now . If you can findthem on the Network You will now be able to see them in Network Neighborhood .

Much Luck !!!!

you must have client for microsoft networks and microsoft family logon, and client for netware...you should make sure you have NETBUI, IPX/SPX and TCP/IP Protocolls you won't be able to see the network computers that are far away and close..also to see the netware computers you must make sure you put the netware for file and print sharing services as well. I hope I have helped you...
