Cannot open .exe files

By Megtek ·
Hi

Windows 2000 - I cannot open any .exe files. Seems that I can open any other file. Just not .exe's. I have scanned the pc with three different virus programs and it comes up clean. The error I get is:

Not a valid win32 application

Started happening when I tried to open a file using media player.

I dunno...any tips - please...

Well although your AB programs aren't finding anything, I have seen this issue several times as created by several tojans, your AV MAY not be able to find this.

You should try a trojan remover. Another good place to find help is Hackfix. http://www.hackfix.org/

You can also find several trojan detectors/removal tools from a simple Google search, or clik here to get SIMPLY SUPER :http://tinyurl.com/qzkw
It is fully functional for 30 days, there are other free trojan removal tools but this one is quite good. If you don't want to pay the 30 bucks to register it, at least you can get this one cleaned.

Good luck,
OM

Thanbk you for your answer. But if I cannot execute exe files, how do I install this? :-)
