can't find the print spooler

By cpalmatier ·
I can no longer print and when I try to print or install a printer I get a message that the print spooler service is not running...so I tried the suggestions I found on past postings on ways to fix this, but I can't find anything labeled "print spooler" anywhere...I had a malware infection that I cleared up with Spyware Dr, but I still can't figure out how to fix this...Chris

Try this

by Jacky Howe In reply to can't find the print spoo ...

press the WinKey + r and type services.msc and press Enter.
Scroll down to print Spooler and set its Startup to Automatic.

You might want to run MalWareBytes as an added precaution.

Install it, update it and run it.

<a href="http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe" target="_blank"><u>malwarebytes</u></a>

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform Quick Scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
