Can't install Norton Client on Win 2000

By joegrosskopf ·
I have one computer that I upgraded from Windows 98 to 2000. Everything is done except I can not install my Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition client. It brings up the Microsoft Installer box and says "preparing installation", then stops. I have tried reinstalling the Microsoft Installer, and Service Pack 4. i have also called symantec who walked me through complete removal of previous version still, no install. Any ideas?

NAV doesn't completely uninstall from the reg. So if the Symantec folks didn't help you clear the reg entry orphans then they didn't help you.

check these articals out.

try pushing the install from the AMS server or try a pull install from the network share VP Home, clt-inst folder. both of those methods should install the client application and assign it the attributes set in the Antivirus server group that workstation is a part of.
