Can't restart from shutdown screen.

By goldenjedi ·
I have a old Pentium Pro 200Mhz with Windows 98 installed. When I shut down I get the shut down screen and have to manualy shut down the power since my computer has a older motherboard. Usually when I Shut down my computer, the computer when finishing, brings up the "You can now shut down safely.." screen and when I would forget something, i would just press CTL+ALT+DEL to restart the computer. Now when I shut down, the keyboard is non-funtional, I can't restart it from the shut down screen anymore. Please HELP!!!

Can't restart from shutdown screen.

If you updated and installed the shutdown patch, the patch is doing what it is supposed to do. The patch actually shortens down sound files, makes sure that all programs have closed and just before the last shut down screen appears, it disables thekeyboard to avoid erroneous input. I was able to do the same until I installed the patch and it took a second machine crash and install to figure this one out.
