CCNA study material suggestions

By Knoy ·
Does anyone have any good reccomendations for CCNA study material? I have purchased some books in the past for exschange and MCSE and they have been less than helpful. I usually try to steer clear of the MSPress stuff. Does Ciscopress suffer the same weak presentation in their material as does MS or what? just looking for suggestions on good reference material. i am not looking to have a paper cert. thanks

Real Exam

hi knoy
I have personally used the site www.exams.ws and found it very good. The exams are not expensive but quality wise good. When I say quality wise good it does not mean the quality of text and diagrams but the turn out in real live exam.

There are other CLI practice tools available (Boson) but NV5 is good enough.

Ciscopress blows

yes, ciscopress is weak, they do explain every detail, but its wording is bad and you'd read twice the amount to get anything understood.

Go for exam cram books, CCNA 2nd edition book. Its really good!

Totally agree with Tins, the ciscopress book are tedious, read them first(at least 3x) for clear understanding. Then pick up the EXAMCRAM (CCNA 2ND EDITION)& the CCNA PRACTICE QUESTION. It will then come together. I only really understood subnetting until I picked up the EXAMCRAM CCNA 2nd ED
