What does "CE" stand for in the term Windows CE OS?

I've never seen an actual definition for what CE is, but it is used to signify an Embedded system. In this instance, it is Microsoft's Embedded Operating system for handheld devices. You might check the Microsoft website, it might be defined there. Generally, CE is a parried down version of the regular Windows OS, to work on small handheld devices.

Be on the lookout for the next generation of CE, PocketPC 2002 for handhelds and Smartphone for cell phones. These just build on the CE 3.0platform. At least according to MS they do.
