Central Enterprise Disk Imaging / Cloning solution

By christian.busch ·

I want to centrally manage regular backups and images using a solution like acronis echo server. I have also tried symantec system recovery.

i have tried acronis echo server to centrally image my workstations and servers.

acronis echo has an central agent installer that enables you to add machines and backup them with jobs. thats what I want.

acronis is 8163 is so buggy and user experience is unsuited for managing a larger number of servers that I hated it.

then I tried symantec system recovery 8.5 but it seems to me that you have to install it manually on every station. that doesnt work for me.

is there another product by symantec that has a central management console and agent technology that I missed ?

do you know of any other vendor that sells a enterprise disk imaging solution for quick system recovery from a central console ?

Have you looked at Windows own 'Windows Deployment Service (WDS) which can deploy images over network from a central server?

It can do Windows XP, Vista, 2003 and so on.
