Change List of Search Engines

By kcav ·
I would like change the options listed on the Customize Search Settings dialog page. To get there I click IE | Search | Customize. I am using IE V6.0.2800.1106.

On the Customize Search Settings dialog page, when I check the option Use One Search Engine, 9 choices are displayed. I want to remove three that I never use, and replace them with three search engines I frequently use.

Where is the list stored? How can I edit the list?

You should be able to right click and edit the entries, but try the registry at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search.

Unable to add/delete by dragging. When viewed HKLM_Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Search I found URLs for Yahoo. They did not seem topertain to what I was looking for, and when I entered the addresses on IE address line, and pressed Go, IEcould not find the pages.

What could be negating IE from working correctly on my machine?
