Change Microsoft default IP 169. etc.

By ybissell ·
I'm trying to connect to Adelphia's DHCP server but cannot connect unless I can delete Microsoft's default IP of 169. etc. What do I need to add/change in the registry?

that 169.X.X.X IP address is normal - its what is assigned to the NIC when DHCP is used, but no valid DHCP address has been assigned to the NIC. You do not need to delete that address, rather you need to investigate why you are unable to pull a valid one from the Adelphia server.
