Change phone number format in Outlook 2003 contacts

By shanna ·
Is it possible to change the format that phone numbers are displayed in when entering the number in an Outlook 2003 contact form?

A user is wondering if, rather than the number appearing in the (xxx) xxx-xxx format, it could be shown in the xxx-xxx-xxxx format.

Any and all input very much apreciated.

Just did various searches... seems to just be a problem with Outlook.

See here for recent talk: http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.office.developer.outlook.forms/msg/7257f7f53ed94572?pli=1

Figured it out

Go to Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options. Edit "My Location" and change the area code to something really long "xxxxxxxx". It will then leave your Outlook contacts' phone numbers exactly the way you type them.
