Change Win98 Logon Client' appearance

By Biz-Tec ·
I need to create a personnel logon client or change Microsoft' client for microsoft networks for Win98 so that I can use large
text and a personnel logo. Client for Microsoft networks or Windows Logon
does not seem to have any flexibility in this area.
Any ideas welcome

Theres not much to do for this problem. I know you can place you company logo into the default profiles backround. Also you can display a login banner before loging in. That can be done by using system policy editor.

Hi,

You can download (free) programs of download.com with wich you can alter the startup and shutdown screens of windows
The starting windows 95 will become something you crated)
(search on logo, or startup and shutdown.
after that you can customize the desktop.
You can even use a program like tweakui so they can not change certain settings back.

regards,

Leopold.

Change Win98 Logon Client' appearance

This is possible. I did it myself. I wrote my custom logon screen - it checks users in own database and rejects unauthorized access, if user is authorized - it passes logon info to MS Client, so it initialize MS Network and so on, if you have Novelletc. More - I've used timer - if nobody login during one minute - PC automatically login under special account and locks itself - for this purpose I wrote custom screen saver - it asks login or restart PC, if somebody needs to work. I've used this for night mode PC, I have FIDO communication software installed, so I need to have PC working at night under special account, because I need resources from my LAN. And I need that people can work at morning under their accounts :)
First I've replacedMS Client DLL, but next I thought this isn't very good and looked into Windows 98 Resource Kit/DDK. Basic idea - own network with own Client who will be primary login agent and will pass info to other clients.

Same is possible for WindowsNT/2000, but even easier - all you need just to replace MSGINA.DLL - via registry on manually.

P.S. This thing was written on Delphi, example was on C.
