Check Tape

Is there any way I can get ntbackup to check if there is a tape inserted before it starts from the command line.

If you are scheduling the job through the AT command, add /Interactive immediately after the time. While this won't cause NTBackup to check for the existence of a tape, it will allow it to interact with the desktop so at least you will be able to put one in if there isn’t one already in or put in a second tape if it fills up the first tape.

If you are using a HP T3000 connected behind your floppy drive then you need to replaced the tape drive. We have discovered from HP that after awhile of use the T3000 begin to fail. There use to be a FC120 card to connect the tapedrive up but it hasbeen discontinued along with HP T3000
tapedrives HP has a new of course T5000. GOOD LUCK
