Cisco 48 port Switches?

By adminmichael ·
A while ago i bought a Used Cisco Caytalist XL 3500 48 port switch online, so i could learn the language of the switch and know how to program them if i ever needed to. Well i got an adapter with it 1000base that goes into a slot in the switch, my question is does that change the entire switches ports from 100base to 1000base?

A fiber optic connector. With this adaptor you can connect to a fiber network.
The adaptor does not change the other ports.

There is a gap between "cisco." and "com", you will need to copy this into Word and then close (delete) the space between the two. This will give you a link in Word and all you need to do is just click on it.

Anything over 100base is used for fiber optic...

Since the limit for copper is upto 100base on your device, the 1000base is for a fiber network and yes you have a RJ45 port but this is used from the device to the wall socket, from the wall socket you should have (or subscribed to) a fiber connection. This will give you the speed for the adaptor.
