CISCO : Bandwidth on demand

By dirk.deprest ·
I have a CISCO router 1720 with 1 ethernet, 1 serial Leased Line (64K) to internet and 1 ISDN module (max 2x64K).
What do I want to do -> when my serial interface is on 60% of the bandwidth, the ISDN must connect to the internet and help the serialas long as needed until the bandwidth of the serial is 10% then the ISDN must disconnect, how can I do it. what commands do I need, give me a example of a program so I can try it out.

Thanks
Dirk

If you have a cisco router w/ ISDN when the frame circuit goes down the
router will automatically switch to isdn - if you are on frame relay you
don't have to enter a command, everything will be done for you.

u have to use the backup load command.
in the serial interface type something like this:

backup load 50 10
backup int dialer 1

the 50 means that when the load on the serial line reaches 50%, use the dialer 1 interface as well for load sharing. the 10 means that when the load on the primary serial line is less than 10%, drop the backup interface. with the bri interface, u should use the dialer commands instead of using the actual bri interface. if the bri interface is is placed into the backup mode, the interface is shutdown and the telco company sees on their end that something is wrong with your line. by using the dialer interface, the physical interface is unaffected.
