Cisco SPAN feature

By Jacthemanus ·

Is it possible to mirror a routed link to another port via SPAN?

I have a Ethernet connection via Verizon. My router is marked with QoS DiffServ value and Verizon says that they do not see the traffic as marked via their monitoring device and my traffic is put on the best-effort service.
What I want to do is to monitor the traffic on my WAN router (please see layout below) to see if the traffic is marked. If it is not then there is something wrong with my Site A router. I am trying to use SPAN but how can I mirror a routed link to my monitoring port on the 6500 switch? Thanks in advance for any thoughts?

Here is the layout:
My site A -
Verizon - Ethernet connection
| gig1/1
My WAN router gig1/2
| gig1/1
My 6500 switch <--- fa1/1 monitoring device
internal network
