Do you know how many "models" Cisco Switches there are? Do you know which OS is on the switch?

Look here for a manual for your specific model:

Well, its hard to answer this without more information, but at least I can point you in the right direction.

This site should be very helpful:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/

First, Determine the model of switch you have. Then determine how to connect a terminal to it (usually there is a null-modem connection made to a console port and - if configured - a means to telnet in. There may also be a "web interface"). Connect and determine the version of the Cisco IOS you are running. The configuration commands vary between switches and IOS versions. Then look over the documentation for that IOS and for your switch for configuration. You may also want to pick up a good book on the issue as there are many many possibilities.

Many of the switches have a CLI (command line interface) and/or a menu interface. You can generally navigate that through the prompts or by hitting a ?

Good luck...hope this helps.
