    Locked

    by perebronnum ·

Hi name is Pere. I live in New Zealand and am requsting help with my hard drive. I know that there are untold programmes which can do this but being home bound and on a Govt. pension money is a problem. So can anyone help me with a way to wipe certain files and info that i can’t find on my hard drive. I am using Vista Home Basic 32 bit and on dial up only so obviously it is slow at times which i can handle but i would like remove these items to hopefully let me system run smoother. I describe my self as an intermediate as far as operating a computer goes. Hopefully this is enough info for someone to help, thanks.

CCleaner its free and by far one of the best i have ever used and its simple as well..

      http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloading

This will clean up all your registry problems, clean out prefetch data and internet related files you can even set it to do many sweaps when deleting.

When you delete a file from your hard drive i.e. delete and empty recycle, your computer never actually deletes the file. The position where your file was on the hard drive is marked as being able to be overwritten. This shows up as free space on your hard. The only way to get around this is to reformat.
