Client sessions not shown in Web or WinS

By scasanova ·
When Users log onto our proxy server we are unable to see them in the Web or WinSock Proxy Server User Sessions screen. The IE brower is set to dial the proxy server and not use Automatic Configuration. How come they are not seen by the proxy server?

Ok, if like you stated that you don't have any users showing under "Current Sessions", that might be because of your Client config >wrong Port< and or your NAT is wronfully configured.
I hope it help you a bit....

Until six months ago I was using Proxy server 2 then I changed to using a small router on my cable modem connection.

The problem you are experiencing is caused by not setting user permissions on the proxy server. As I am not running the softwarwenow I cannot have a quick look, however if memory serves me right if you examine the properties of say the Web Proxy there should be a permissions tab, if your users are authenticating against an NT domain in which either the proxy server is a member or is in a trusting domain of your master domain, then you can use your master domains permissions to control who can use the proxy. If you select no authentication then nothing will be logged and any users will be shown as anonymous.

With the WinSock proxy it is possible to allow different services to different users using NT permissions, i.e. allow some users to access to POP3 email servers whilst preventing access to other users.

Hope that helps.
