Computer hangs at dell splash screen

By clbaker85 ·
I am working on a Dell Dimension E510. It hangs at the dell splash screen (the status bar shows bios about 90% loaded). I have tested power supply, RAM and motherboard with post tester, unplugged all pci cards, optical drives, tried new CMOS battery, and tried an IDE hard drive (came with SATA, to no avail. I can't enter setup, nor can I boot to CD or floppy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Reflash..

Assuming it has a floppy drive, have you tried reflashing the BIOS? Other than that, I would say the MB needs to be replaced.

Status Bar?? What Status Bar?

I took this directly from the Dell Service Manual for this Model

Shut down and restart the computer.

When the DELL logo appears, press <F12> immediately.

If you wait too long and the Windows logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Windows desktop. Then shut down your computer and try again.

So are you pressing the F12 Key as soon as the Dell Logo Appears?

Have you tried a Bootable Disc in the Optical Drive?
