computer telephony integration

I would like to have a picture file about the computer telephony network architecture
layout. The latest integration information of computer telephony. The application of this technology in the SOHO and mid range business environment. Can ppl outthere give me a hand on this.

This subject has many differnt approaches and many considerations when attempting a design. Some of the information for SOHO and SMB differs greatly. Some is the same.

SOHO: The essential components are a proper Gateway, such as a router that can setup the required bandwidth from end-to-end. Cisco Systems has, by far, the greatest capabilities in this area. You will need to allocate bandwidth for the voice portion of you data and the legeacy data accordingly. Is the SOHO using ISDN, xDSL, Frac T1, etc.? The design would vary greatly based on these factors. Also, will Voice Mail be utilized? If so, where is the VM server? What is the VM vendor? These will all affect the amount of compression you will be able to bring to bear when allocating bandwidth over the WAN.

SMB: Same goes for this environment. Usually SMB environments will have more users and higher speed links than a SOHO. You can now cost justify having many of the servers that setup calls, collect and distribute VM, and provide

Actually for a SOHO, I would look into Shoreline or 3Com's solutions, the MCS alone for the Cisco AVVID solution is as expensive as the entire shoreline solution...
Unless you like buying $500 phones...
