confidentiality notice on email

By Jakomeit ·
We are considering implementing a confidentiality notice on all external email. I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this. We use Outlook 2000 with Exchange Server 5.5. Is there some way I can set a confidentiality statment to go on all email that the recipient is not in the global address list through exchange server rather than setting up a signature for each and every user at their workstation?

There's some email disclaimer software available that's reasonably inexpensive and quite versitle.

See these links for some helpful information:

In the "controlled" enviroment of Exchange you can use the imsext.dll to accomplish your goal.
References as follows:

One additional consideration for an add on package comes into play if a POP3/SMTP access is allowed, which by nature by passes the Exchange control. If these are allowed then additional software would be required.

Lastly, this issue has been discussed often in the Tech Q&A and a search of "disclaimer" would give you many results with additional comments and insights.

Hope this helped.

We use a product call mail essentials by GFI. Seems to work quite well and has the added bonus of mail filtering by file extension, subject/body text and text in attachments.
