First of all, (is it a Windows 2000 network?) you need to add the computer to the network. You need to know the domain name of the network; a domain admin user & password; and whether or not DHCP is running on the server.

If you do, I could write it all down for you or you can go to http://www.colby-sawyer.edu/information/technology/updates/Win2000domainJoin.html for a screenshot step-by-step example of adding a Windows 2000 Pro to a network.

Hello,

Right click on My Computer, go into Properties and then the Network Identification tab - click on Properties and add it to the domain then you can use the Netword ID button - it's a wizard - to join the domain. You will need to know the Network Admin Password.
