Connecting Dell laptop to Verizon Actiontec Router

    Locked

    by djwolf16 ·

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop. I just switched form Cablevision to Verizon for
Internet Service yesterday.. Upon installation of the new service I am no longer able to log on to the internet via my laptop.. I spent three hours on the phone with the guys from verizon and they couldn’t figure it out.. With Cablevision I had no problems at all, as I was able to use a linksys router to get internet access… With the Verizon router they are telling me not to use the linksys, but for some reason I can’t connect to the internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

I had a similar problem with my laptop and BellSouth DSL. I could connect the desktop and the wireless router to the DSL modem, but not my laptop. BellSouth eventually broke down and admitted that I would have to connect my laptop through the router.

My first question is this a e1505 with a dell wireless card? The actiontec router is wep encryped out of the box. The wep is printed on the bottom of the router.
