Constant Power Cycle

By Rjae ·
We had a user's computer GFX fail on her recently, the capacitor exploded and thus a new computer was assigned to her, after a day working on this new computer .. the computer would not turn on and would go into a constant state of power cycling even after turning the computer off it would turn back on and turn back off. I removed the GFX card and surprisingly the computer worked again as per normal .

There is nothing wrong with the GFX card as it works fine on another computer.

Any Idea's??

And the M'Board that this Video Card is on is what?

by OH Smeg In reply to Constant Power Cycle

This sounds like a Chip Set Incompatibility between the Chip Set of the M'Board and the Video Card.

I've seen this way too often with non Intel M'Board Chip Sets and very occasionally with Intel Chip Sets.

enough power ?

by beanxyz In reply to Constant Power Cycle

Maybe u should check the manual of the video card, and canculate how much power u need to supply the Motherboard, cpu, card, etc..
