Converting a website from Intranet to Internet on IIS

By mr.sweetchuck ·
Hi I was just wondering if this is possible or do you need to recreate the website. I want to do this for an existing website and the overhead for recreating it would be quite large.

Also I want to give it a specific URL, based on the company's website URL, (e.g. NEW.mycompany.com)

Tech Notes:
IIS 6 running on a Windows Server 2003 SBS Ed. R1 (SP2) server.

Public IP and DNS

by p.j.hutchison In reply to Converting a website from ...

Well the server needs to made visible to the public internet. Which means you will need a public IP address and using port forwarding for port 80 to your web server. Also, you need to register the url and dns with the ISP so its added to their dns servers. You do not need to redo the website.
