cookie problem in IE6

By Geoff59 ·
Since updating IE6 I can no longer use cookies as I get an erorr message so I have resorted to other browsers which I find are better. How can I repair IE6 so that cookies will work again.

Eiether check you IE Advanced settings and make sure you have cookies enabled or try going to ADD/Remove programs, click REMOVE beside Internet Explorer and it will let you choose to repair IE.

It sounds like the sevurity settings defaulted after the update though, it is probably security or Cooakies aren't enabled.

Go to internet properties and click on the privacy tab and lower the slider a bit.

Under Tools - Internet Options - Privacy - Advanced I have checked Override Auto Cookie Handling, Accept First & Third Party Cookies and Always Allow Session Cookies. Apart from this under Tools - Internet Options I cannot find any reference to cookies at all. Also when I go into Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs IE6 is also not listed there so I cannot repair. I have tried re-installing IE6 through the Registry [changing 1 to 0] so I could re-install IE6 but this had not helped either. Exactly where should I find reference to Cookies under Tools - Internet Options?
