Hi,

You can copy windows' files from DOS command by using the normal COPY command of DOS (even when you boot from a DOS diskette) too.
eg:
copy C:\Mydocu~1\test.txt a:
In DOS mode, all the long file name are made shorter by the way of DOS. It keeps first 6 character, then a "~" sign and the last character is the order number. For example, in that directory you have more than 1 file have the same first 6 characters then they will be numberred 1, 2, 3..... If more than 9 file are the same then DOS will keep only first 5 characters.
The sticky is that you may not recognize the needed file. However, you may use it for simple cases.
I have created a such tool about 3 years ago but I have soon found out that it was not very useful. If you like, I'll find it and send you. However, you should give out your email address.

Good luck,

try xcopy32 -- provided by Microsoft with Windows98 (and probably 95, but I don't have a 95 PC here to check).
