Corrupt partion. Chkdsk does not resolve. Help please!

By kevg ·
I have a partion that CHKDSK reports as "Corrupt Master File Table. CHKDSK aborted".
It is an NTFS partion.
Problem started when I was doing a chkdsk /f and had a city wide power cut.
Any ideas?

Re: Corrupt partion. Chkdsk does not resolve.

Need more to go on here:
What version of windows are you using. Sounds to me that you are using xp. Just working on your post and that you are using xp, then your best bet would be to buy another hdd then you can then access all(nearly all) your files. I hope this helps you. Please post back if you have anymore problems or questions.

Running XP PRO SP2.
The corrupt partion is on a seprate drive. Its only a data partion that is bad. This HDD has more than 1 partion on it and is only used for data. It is not my my program drive.
The fact that chkdsk aborts means that I cann't access the partion at all
