Creating a second Gobal Address book

By jcbrito_77 ·
I have a NT 4.0 server with service pack 6 and I run my exchange server 5.5 with service pack 4. I want to create a second Global address list of user from our mother company and keep everyone from our company in the default GAL. Can someone point me in the right direction or give me instructions on how to do this, help will be appreciated.

I don't know if there's any way to create a second GAL per se. However, you can easily create a public contact list containing these email addresses and make it accessible to all of your Exchange users. Simply create a public folder, select "Contacts" as the type of items in the folder, and then set the default permissions to the folder to an appropriate level. For example, if you want all users to be able to add/edit/delete all items on the contact list, then the default could be publishingeditor, etc. Hope this helps!

I created a second Recipient container, added all the e-mail addresses to that container and I get the option in Outlook to select which GAL to chose from. Is this the way to go or should I have created a New Address Book View?
