Default Sharing Problem

By oisere ·
Each time the PDC is rebooted, the dafault C$ and ADMIN$ are not shared. I had to share it each time the server is rebooted.
I would like to keep it permanently shared.
Help is needed from fellow Administrators PLEASE.

Check out Microsoft Technet article Q245117, it talks about the admin shares not reappearing when you restart NT, and gives a registry edit that is supposed to correct this.

By default, Windows NT creates so-called administrative shares that are accessible to domain administrators and allows them to remotely retrieve all the files on a computer. These shares are re-created each time the system reboots.
You can enable/disable this process by editing registry. To enable autosharing open the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe or Regedt32.exe). Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Paramaters. Set both AutoShareServer and AutoShareWks values to 1.
