deleting temp internet files

Can I safetly delete temp internet files that say my system may not work if I delete the file? Located in C\Windows\temporary internet files\content.ie5.. etc

Depending on the version of Windows and IE, there is at least 1 file that Windows will not let you delete.

Otherwise, there is no problem deleting the Temporary Internet files.

Have you tried deleting them the easy way?
From Internet Options,on the General tab, just click on Delete Files.
That will get rid of most of the files in a safe manner.

Also, under the Tools/Internet Options menu in IE6 [perhaps other versions, too] you can go to the advanced tab, scroll down to the security section and check off the option for Empty Temporary Internet Files when browser is closed.
