Desktop Icon crash in Windows 2000

By nahtk ·
All the icons of my desktop, except the My Computer, Internet Explorer, My Documents and Network Neighbourhood, shows with an Winzip icon instead of the normal program icons. The Winzip icon overlap with the original icon.

I have followed Microsoft website and delete and recreat the shelliconcache file, but the problem still prevails. I have deleted all these desktop icons and re-create thewse icons in the desktop by going into the file explorer, but the problem is not solved. Please help. Thank you.

Have you made sure to have save setting upon shutdown turned on? cause that's what i forgot to do and had icons always revert back to prior state.

Thanks. However, it won't work. Moreover, After I started the notebook in safe mode, and rebbot again, all the icons returned to normal.
