Desktop support scanning tools?

By Mycah Mason ·
Hello,

I am looking for some desktop support tools for Windows XP and Windows Vista that do NOT need to be installed on every machine, but can be run from a USB drive.

Does anyone know of any software to do registry repair or spyware scans etc. that can be run on a USB drive?

My main goal here it to have a set of software that I can run from a USB drive on problematic PCs to fix them and increase system performance.

Thanks.

You mention you want something that will fit on a USB. From that, can I say that it is for support of machines not in the near vicinity? If so, does your machine and the other one have internet connectivity? If so, you could look into Logmein Rescue

Various Locations

I am asking since I work on several different machines that may or may not be local. It's safe to assume that they all have internet connections so I will check out the link, thanks.

By the way

If the client just wants things done and does not neccessarily need to interaction with you as you work on the machines, there is a free version of it that will work.

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet (work is keeping my busy ...just had a switch go down this morning too), but I'll definately get around to it. Thanks again for the info.
