Depending on the blocker, you can't beat it. The ones built into Mozilla derived browsers keep everything out.

This is a good thing. If your business plan is based on giving people what they expressly do not want and have taken steps to avoid, you need a new business plan almost as much as you need to turn off CAPS LOCK.

Your best net based advertising option, is "opt-in" e-mail campaigns.

I expect pop-up ads to start getting the same attention as Spam is once spam is legislated out of existence.

Personally, I "IGNORE" ALL banner, pop-up, and spam ads.

At this time, my personal grudge is against mortgage firm ads.
I get at least 5 e-mails a day offering a new mortgage.

Since I am completely satisfied with my present mortgage firm, should I decide to do any thing, it will be with them.

You have another problem with your business plan.
There is no way, outside of an opt in campaign, to target your ads or web site to a single state.

I'll have to agree with answer #1. Everyone in the world complains about those stupid pop-ups and yet you actually WANT to use them?
Also, you might want to use a spell-checker or have someone else proof-read your posts.

I think you are getting the jist from the previous answers. I personally give pop-up advertisers the same legitimacy as porn sites. I see quite a few mortgage brokers resorting to spam and pop-ups. If you want legitimate buisness, do legitimate advertising. When I open my mail and get an add for "reduce your mortgage payment" right under "enlarge your p****", guess what, they both get dumped. As far as target areas, this is one of the downfalls of spam and pop-ups, it costs more to target,it costs nothing to distribute, so there are no specific targeted lists. My personal opinion is this, you reep what you soe, if you want the type of clients that are lured by pop-ups, go ahead, it may work out, they are probably very gulable. If you want respectable clients and a legit buisnes, do your marketing the same way.
