Disable the [Ctrl][Alt][Del] function i

By alvaror ·
'm currently connecting to a WINNT TSE using RDP from a Compaq T1000 (Thin Client). I need to either disable the [Ctrl][Alt][Del] function or change it. Is their any software or shareware I can use? I recently read an article on disabling hotkeys, but I tried the software (Macro) recommend and it didn't work. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm sorry to say, but in two words "forget it". The CTRl-ALT-DEL function in NT is a security feature that is built into the kernel, but then agian it is that full of security holes there may be a way around it. Good luck with your search

Why must you disable? Why not automaticly login. Modify then Add the following lines to your registry. For user substitue an account name and for password substitue the appropriate password for account listed. If ever you want to stop the autologin, change autoadminlogin ="0"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"DefaultUserName"="user"
"DefaultPassword"="password"
"AutoAdminLogon"="1"

WINNT does not allow disabling the Ctrl+Alt+Del function as it is part of the security log-on requirement. If you have no requirement for this, but simply need to use NT, try downloading Tweek-UI from Microsoft, it is a free download and has all kinds of useful tools built in, including a check box to allow you to automatically login. Once enabled, you can even change around the login information and accounts from the control panel. It will also let you disable this feature if for example you decide to go on vacation and don't want people to gain access. It is what I use, and it keeps the security intact, without having to mess around in the registry.
