Disk ownership in Windows XP

By Otura ·
I have 2 Windows XP systems, sysA and sysB. I have a NTFS disk in sysA and would like to move it to sysB and take ownership of it.

How can I do this?

Very easy - move the disk to sys B
Log in as Administrator
Right click on the disk in explorer - go to properties
Select the security tab - you may see a weird entry ,if so then click add and select the everyone group. Give them full control. If for some reason it doesn't let you do this, click advanced on the security tab and then go to the owner tab. Select Administrator to take ownership - make sure you check the box to replace owners on subcontainers and objects.

Good luck
cp

It's Windows XP, not 2000. There is not a security tab.
