Display Property icon causes illegal op.

By weejingles ·
Have Win98. Have display property shortcut icon on taskbar. I recently downloaded IE6, and upgraded DOS. Now, every time I click on the Display Icon to change my screen size, I get "explorer caused invalid page fault in KRNL386.exe.....". I've been into MSCONFIG to uncheck several items on start up. No matter what I uncheck, I get the above illegal op. Any help greatly appreciated!

Try this: remove the shortcut. Reboot. Make a new shortcut. Sometimes upgrades mess with your shortcuts. I had to redo a bunch of mine when I upgraded Office.

Thanks, but I've already done that! I've also run scandisk, defrag., system file checker, and version conflict, and I'm still getting the illegal op. I know it's a minor problem, but now it's a matter of principle!

Thanks!
