DMI boot up problems

Hi,
If the os is win98, try the following.
1.enter the BIOS and make sure that Auto configuration is enabled under pnp/pci configurations. also make sure that any automatic capabilities are enabled.
2.Insert a bootable win98 floppy, go to commandprompt, type fdisk /mbr. This will rewrite the master boot record from the floppy.
3. if you have no fdisk command on floppy, naviagte to c:\windows\command and type the same command.

Restart your pc.

Hope this helps

Tahnks for the help. It appears to have been a BIOS issue.

1. You may have a bad plug-in card.

2. You may have a plug-in card that is attempting to use the same DMI address as another card.

If you recently added a card, that may be the culprit.

If you have not added a card recently, try removing your modem or NIC card, as these are the most apt to fail.
