Do I need to know coding/web design for this?

By Malcolm-M ·
Hello! I want to launch a personal website (sort of a blog), but I don't want to use a free blogging site so I decided to buy a domain for it. I also want to buy hosting for the website so it's more personalized than an average wordpress blog. I chose a web host already, one my colleague recommended, because it seems to support basic site-building (http://website.1and1.co.uk/create-personal-website) without having to code pages from scratch, however, I haven't had any experience with web hosting before so I need to ask: do I need to get familiar with web coding/web design in order to be able to use a web host's site building features, or is it user-friendly enough for those who don't have any coding knowledge as well? Thank you in advance! -Malcolm

Malcom,

If you want a personal site, truly personal, unique and satisfying (maybe a little frustrating at times) and the gratification of your own creation then I suggest to learn how to code. There are so many helpful resources about coding web sites out there. Who knows, maybe you're the next 'it' designer?
