ISAScripts.org Bolsters ISA Firewall Script Cache

      by tshinder ·

In reply to Dr. Tom’s Microsoft Networking Blog

      Jim Harrison’s
http://www.isatools.org site is a godsend to ISA
firewall admins who need scripts to bolster the ISA firewall console’s
limitations. Jim’s site has been the mainstay and the only site on the Internet
to provide useful ISA firewall scripts. That is until now. Check out
Jason Fossen’s http://www.isascripts.org site for a collection of
scripts that allow you to do a number of management tasks that can’t be done in
      the ISA firewall console.

      Here’s a list from Jason’s Web
      site (http://www.isascripts.org):

    • ISA_Fill_Domain_Name_Set.vbs
      Update a Domain Name Set
with domains obtained from a local file or from an HTTP URL, such as for the
blacklisted domains of spammers, advertisers, pornographers, hate groups,
      etc.

    • ISA_Fill_Computer_Set_Subnets.vbs
      Update a Computer Set
object with subnets obtained from a local file or from an HTTP URL, such as for
bogon routes, unallocated routes, known attackers, unwanted countries,
      etc.

    • ISA_Copy_HTTP_Filter_Settings.vbs
      Copies the HTTP
application-layer filter settings from one rule to another in the firewall
      policy.

    • ISA_Reset_Acknowledge_Alerts.vbs
      Functions for viewing,
      resetting and acknowledging triggered alerts.

    • ISA_Add-Remove_Cached_File.vbs
      Add/remove individual
      files from Web Proxy cache.

    • ISA_List_Alert_Definitions.vbs
      List alert definitions and
      their properties.

    • ISA_Manage_SSL_Ports.vbs
      View and
edit permitted outbound HTTPS/SSL tunnel ports (see KB283284).

    • ISA_Manage_Domain_Name_Sets.vbs
      Variety of functions for
viewing, creating, deleting and modifying Domain Name Set
      objects.

    • ISA_Manage_Subnets.vbs
      Variety of
functions for viewing, creating, deleting and modifying Subnet
      objects.

    • ISA_Manage_URL_Sets.vbs
      Variety of
functions for viewing, creating, deleting and modifying URL Set
      objects.

    • ISA_Server_Info.vbs
      Variety of
functions for querying sessions, server name, cache drives, and other
      stuff.

    • ISA_Server_2004_Error_Codes.xls
      Spreadsheet of names,
descriptions and hex numbers of ISA Server 2004 error, cache and response
      codes.

    • ISA_Server_Security_Template.inf
      Security template for ISA
Server firewalls for use with SECEDIT.EXE or the Security Configuration &
Analysis snap-in.  Disables unneeded services, so make sure to make a
backup of your box and test the template on a non-production server
      first!
