    drive boot up: error occured

    Locked

    by tomberghmans ·

    Hello,
My pc has 4 harddrives installed: c:windows, d:data (raid 0/ two identical drives), e:music. Now recently when I start my pc during bootup when the pc is checking all the devices and drives it shows ‘error occured!’ on the second drive of my raid 0, all the others are ‘ready’.
I tried chkdsk but this doesn’t show any problems.
    Any suggestions?

You need to download the Drive Testing utility

From the HDD maker and test the drive in question. If it shows up as faulty remove it from that system and connect it to a different system and test again. If it still comes up as faulty the drive is damaged and needs replacing but if it comes up as Good on the second test the Controller for the RAID is faulty and needs something done about the problems that are there.

What you do from here depends on if you have a Hardware or Software RAID Array as there are different procedures to follow with both. Reading the Manual that came with the RAID Controller/M’Board will be your starting point.
