Duplicate Name

By Deven ·
Hi,

I had posted this question few days back but didnt get proper solution so here again I am posting it.

I am getting an event 4319 in my event viewer whenver I restart a windows 2000 server.
This machine is a windows 2k server and the roleis webserver. I have few websites hosted on this machine, as well this machine is collocated in my ISP's premises.

The detailed error is :
"A Duplicate name has been detected on the TCP network. The IP address of the machine that sent the message is in the data. Use nbtstat -n in a command window to see which name is in the Conflict state."

When I use nbtstat -n command it gives the following :

Node IPaddress:[202.71.140.97] Scope ID:[]
NetBios Local Name Table
Name type Status
--------------------------------------------------
INet~Services <1C> GROUP Registered

This machine is not a domain controller.I am not using WINS and DHCP on this machine as well.

I tried to search on technet but didnt get proper solution.

Any help wud be appriciated...

Thanks in advance.

Do you have two network cards on this server? If yes, then disable NetBIOS on one of the NICs.
