DVD video-audio sync

By Rschleg1 ·
Approximately 4.5 minutes into a DVD disc the voice and video lose synchronization. Hardware involved is PC with Epox MVP3G motherboard, Samsung 6X DVD, SB-16 sound, and AMD K6-2 500mhz processor, 192 Meg SDRAM, and an ATI Expert 2000 32 meg video card with hardware DVD support. There are no other system conflicts or problems

Try enabling DMA and Sync Data Transfer for the DVD in Device Manager.

Good Luck

are the hard drive and dvd rom running off the same ide controller? if they are run the dvd off the secondary controller (may involve purchasing another ide cable), then check that dma is enabled and that you have the latest drivers installed for all of your hardware, especially hardware and via 4 in 1

DMA is enabled. 1st IDE controller has Hard Drive and LS-120 drive. Second controller has DVD as master and Phillips CD-RW as slave. Latest drivers loaded.....problem persists.

I have had this problem with samsung dvd and ATI expert 2000. I am not sure of the relationship or the cause. I would however make 2 recomendations both of which are your playing software. I asume that you are useing the dvd software from the ati video card cdrom. If not, try that. If the problem persists, I have resolved this myself by using software decodeding, "PowerDVD" a software only player. http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/products/powerdvd/powerdvd.asp
I hope this does the trick for you. PS. have you tried changeing hardware, video,sound,drive...
