e-hrm advantages and disadvantages

by dkd In reply to e-hrm advantages and disa ...

Having worked in HR for the last few years and examined several options, there are a few points to consider.

PROs
Good for routine tasks, improves record keeping
Improves accuracy and reduces human bias
Maintains anonymity of staff in evaluation/feedback giving

CONs
Can alienate staff members that need personal support
Reduces the need for managers to interact with staff (i.e. less face-time and increased risk of 'losing touch' with staff)
Subject to corruption/hacking/data losses
I would evaluate these based on your corporate culture, the type and size of your organization and receptiveness of the staff.

www.shrm.org is a good resource to investigate
