e-mail

I get an e-mail from a friend with the attachment of a window symbol and .e-mail.When I try to open it it asks me what I want to open this with.How can I open this attachment?

You could try a ten foot pole.
.e-mail is NOT a standard file extension. Contact your friend and see if they have the latest anti-virus definitions installed.

I would delete it, if you know the person who sent it contact the person & find out what it is they sent exactly & what type of attachment it was & what opens it. Then if you trust whats being sent open it with the application needed, such as windows media player, notepad, imaging or paint veiwer.

When you right click attachment it should give option to open with, if it's not listed select other a list will appear & the app you need will hopefully be in that list.

DOnot open this file unless you know the originator of file,most email viruses are transmitted using this method.

Check the file first wot your anti-virus software to make sure you have not received .

If this is not a hoax,then the file may besent in MIME format and you will need a utility such as win zip to open the encoded mime file.
